We will be meeting again at 6pm to retrieve the flags. Please do not comment on this site since it does not go anywhere. We are working on this problem.

Troop 287 has been ask to attend the Rotary Club Meeting on June 15th to present the colors. We are still in need of some Scouts to join us. We will meet at the barn at 11:30 and return around 2pm. This luncheon is where they present our biannual check. We have the opportunity to tell the club how much we appreciate this fundraiser and how we use the money that we earn. Lunch will also be provided. Arrangements can be made for Scout pickup or drop-off if needed. Please were your Class A uniform. Please sign up below.

We have been invited to a meeting at the Rotary Club on June 15th from 12-1:30 to receive our check for our flag program. This time they would like us to bring some of our Scouts to do a flag ceremony and give a little speech on how the funds benefit our troop. There are many advancement and MB opportunities with this meeting and you get a free lunch with it! This is a great opportunity for our new scouts and those working on the Communication MB for Eagle Scout.

Thank you for everyone that has signed up for flag duty. The team REALLY appreciates it. We are still in need for more scouts and parents to sign up for more flag days. It will be much easier and more fun if we can fill these slots. We have many new scouts and this is a good way to meet more parents.

We have 4 routes. Each route has approximately 60, 8ft flags. These are established routes with flag holders in the ground. The scouts put them up, salute the flag and move on. We will try to pair young scouts up with the older ones. In the afternoon, flags are collected, rolled and put away.

Flags is a FUNdraiser that our troop has been doing for over 20 years. We have raised over $88,000 in that time, so it is a very large part of our troop funding. Only 3 troops do flags here in Colorado Springs, we are fortunate to be one of them. We are partnered with the Rotary Club and they do the subscriptions and collect the money for the flags. It is our obligation to get just over 200 flags up and down for 5 holidays. It makes it easier if each family commits to a holiday (or more).
