This Saturday, the boys of Troop 287 will meet at at the north gate of the US Air Force Academy at 6:30 a.m., to do the 20-mile hike as part of the Eagle-required Hiking Merit Badge. We start at the parking lot just before the Academy guard gate and hike down the Santa Fe Trail. We’ll finish at El Pomar (S. Circle and I-25). We expect 5-6 hours of hiking.
Boys should dress in layers for the weather, have good shoes or boots. Sunscreen. Water. A hat. Bring your own lunch. Some snacks and beverages will be provided at designated stops along the way.
