The boys of Troop 287 did a fantastic job on the 15- mile backpacking trip. This turned out to be quite a bit tougher and longer than we expected. Nonetheless, the boys persevered with tremendous spirits and attitudes. No doubt, this will be a trip they will remember and talk about for years to come.
Additionally, Christian successfully completed his scoutmaster conference for First Class rank and Michel completed his for the rank of Eagle while on the trip. Congrats to both scouts!
The boys also got a start on their Wilderness Survival merit badge as they learned different methods of purifying water, starting fires without a match, and even building a survival shelter and sleeping in it for a night.
